I smoke too...this wont make me stop...Im terrible :( Even they put the price up and I cant stop :( My smokes now are almost $15 per packet ($15 a day). This is close to $15 US (maybe about $14 US).

Here in Australia, they are trying to bring in 'plain packaging' with just a health warning like this....

In Russia, a lot of cigarettes costs 50 U.S. cents per pack of 20 pieces. I smoke such cigarettes. :)

Here, the Government taxes Cigarettes and Alcohol very heavily. A bottle of spirits (decent brand) is approximately $60. Australian dollar is very close to US dollar at the moment. I cant believe how cheap cigarettes are in Russia...Im shocked!

hmmm I think not alot then, but you know, it depends on how expensive everything else is ie rent/mortgage and food.

If I smoked 2 packets a day, this would be $930 US a month which (without using calculator) would be almost 20% of my salary :( (probably 30% of average persons salary)

Ммм я думаю, не дешево, то, но вы знаете, это зависит от того, насколько дорого все остальное т.е. аренда / ипотека и продукты питания.

I smoke cigarettes by 17$ pack and very like expensive alcohol (50-60$) but I live in capital city and don't pay rent. My salary 820$ but I don't have the money and so I use bank loans :(

@ nepravilnaya...if you dont mind me asking...you are in Russia too? In the Capital City? If so, there seems to be a huge difference in prices of Cigarettes (from $1-$2 to $17 per pack) :]

Here in Western Australia they are taxing all these 'luxuries' to try and make us stop :( Also, they are doing things like making it 'no smoking' everywhere :( ie our Beaches. They are trying to make it that we cant smoke at the beach. I think this will be very hard to police. I put this as I thought everyone might be interested ''LINK

and in Central City rent ab. 970-1000$ per month. People whom find rent = 500-600$ are very glad, in spite of these apartments aren't better view

Here, the cost for inner city living is so varied its hard to say, but here is some examples '' Rental Property's in Australia (prices are per week).

Of course we are paying, but we pay the state for water, electricity, and what is part of living in this apartment. Let's just say that we are the owners of the apartment. Some people live in apartments that they were from the state until now. In the capital, to live is very expensive. However buy an apartment in a small town not simpler 3rooms+kitchen+shower = $33,000 and it is only the bare walls, no floor, nothing only walls.
