Is the time of Christmas and New Year the same in Russia? ie New Years day is 1st January? Christmas day the 25th December?

13 years agoOh wow I didnt know...so New Year is before your Christmas? :] I thought it was the same all over the world...I am very interested in the differences :]

13 years agoahhh and I just looked on Google and found out that around 65% of ethnic Russians are Orthodox....and similar percentage of Belarusians and Ukrainians =D Does this sound right?

13 years agoIn Russia there is a phrase that everyone knows and saying in the New Year. This phrase: Hello Ass, New Year! (ЗДРАВСТВУЙ, ЖОПА! НОВЫЙ ГОД!)
What does this phrase mean and how it appeared, I do not know ... : (
